Summer Theater Intensive

Specifically for Teens Ages 11-19

July 7 or 8th 6:00 pm

Presented by Cayla Hoke

Thank you for your interest in Auditioning with TAC at the Lake!

This is a unique opportunity to get together over the summer and create some art! Lead by a Teen Board member, Cayla Hoke, this is a 6 week intensive where you will write, produce and star in original comedy vignettes. At the end of the process the actors will perform the show in two performances! Auditions for this production is a formality and all that want to participate will be selected. We will work with schedule conflicts more generously than we usually can, so don’t let a few standing commitments keep you from participating!

Auditions July 7 or 8th.

For the audition, you will be reading from provided monologues, no need to prepare anything.

Audition forms are here: Audition Forms. Please complete the audition form as soon as possible so we can gauge the participation.

Rehearsal Schedule:

Usually Monday-Friday 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.

This is a show completely written, rehearsed and performed by the cast. It is geared towards teens aged 11-19 year olds looking to showcase their creative writing, better their acting, and have fun. Through a six week rehearsal process, the cast will write various comedy sketches that will be showcased in a full length play.

The first portion of rehearsals will be dedicated to writing sketches. These sketches can be about school, community theater, and/or anything the writer finds funny (given that it is “PG rated”). At the end of the writing period, sketches will be submitted and voted upon for which end up in the final show. Writers are encouraged to submit as many or as few sketches as they desire. Once the script is finalized and cast, it will be blocked and rehearsed as a regular show.

The primary goal of this show is to give teens an opportunity to participate in theater over the summer, as well as give them a creative outlet to express themselves. We look forward to meeting you!

In theater, we have to be prepared for anything! Schedules and rehearsal times are subject to change.
